Central Universities Entrance Test
The CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is a common entrance exam conducted by NTA for UG Admissions across 90+ Universities, including all the Central Universities in India. A total of 54 Central Universities (with the likes of, DU, JNU, BHU, AMU, Hyderabad University, and Allahabad University) will be taking admissions in UG courses based on the CUET 2023 score.
With Approximate 14.9 lakh applicants, CUET UG 2022 which is being held in two slots drew enormous amount of attention. With roughly 8.10 lakh candidates in the first slot and roughly 6.8 lakh candidates in the second slot, applicants submitted 54,555 different combinations of topic applications to 90 universities.
The next edition of CUET in 2023 is expected to surpass the previous edition as the CUET is going to take place twice a year from next year giving students an opportunity to improve their scores if needed. Considering these facts, all aspirants need to know the CUET 2023 Exam Pattern so that they can develop an effective exam strategy to ace CUET and achieve their dream of getting desired course in desired university and college.
The CUET will be held online as a computer-based test (CBT) and in two shifts, Slot I (morning) & Slot II (afternoon). The duration of the exam will be 3 Hours 15 minutes and 3 Hours 45 minutes respectively, depending on the subject combination chosen by the students. A candidate has to write one or more exams in both slots.

Section I is further divided into subsections A and B for two different languages. These are the choices offered for both:

The questions in this section will test one’s proficiency in the language based on comprehension passages, fundamentals of grammar, and vocabulary.
- In the comprehension section, you will be evaluated on your understanding of a passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein, etc.
- The grammar section entails correcting grammatically incorrect sentences, filling blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.
- Questions on synonyms & antonyms will check one’s command of English vocabulary.
- Prepare for Verbal Ability, Rearranging the parts, Choosing the correct word, Synonyms, Antonyms, and Vocabulary.

CUET 2023 : Marking Scheme
NTA has confirmed the CUET Pattern & marking scheme for the upcoming exam. As per the official CUET notification, 5 marks will be awarded for every correct attempt, and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect attempt. However, there will be no penalty for unattempted questions.
